Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks a CUNY EDGE Advisor at BMCC to advance student success by providing individualized academic advisement and guiding students toward transfer or employment opportunities.

The role collaborates with faculty and external partners, supports HRA coordination and training of fellows, and contributes to program materials and events to strengthen outcomes and engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in education, counseling, social work, public administration, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide students from underrepresented backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication with documentation and reporting skills.
• Experience with trauma-informed student advising and cultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic advisement to a diverse student caseload.
• Assist with data collection, grant reporting, and program assessment to inform decisions.
• Support training and mentorship of HRA fellows for professional growth.
• Collaborate with faculty, student services, and external partners to boost engagement and retention.
• Contribute to design and implementation of program materials, communications, and events.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in program planning activities.
