RFCUNY Research Foundation of the City University of New York seeks an experienced academic advisor to provide comprehensive advisement to a cohort, guiding students toward degree completion at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
You will develop semester plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with faculty and Career Learning Lab to connect students with internships and opportunities. A master’s degree plus four years of advising experience are preferred.

Primary Location: JOHN JAY COLLEGE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE Bargaining Unit: No ASAP and ACE programs help students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP|ACE program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time study, and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students, yearly textbook vouchers, and OMNY transportation benefit for all students. Further information is available at www.cuny.edu/ASAP The ASAP|ACE academic advisor is a member of an integrated team providing individual academic, career, and related support to an assigned group of program students, utilizing a variety of modalities, as they progress towards their associate degree. Reporting to the ASAP|ACE Associate Director, the senior academic advisor is responsible to carry out advisement services to their cohort of students in accordance with program policy, with the goal of retaining the maximum number of students each semester and graduating a minimum of 50% of each student cohort. The ACE academic advisor will collaborate with other program staff, as well as faculty to provide coordinated services and support student success. The academic advisor assists with all program initiatives, including special events and recruitment, if necessary.
Pay Range: Annual Salary $61,831-$70,000
This position is funded until June 30, 2029.

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
