Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work or related fields; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in academic advising, admissions, career counseling or related higher education area; or one year with a Master's.
• Experience working with diverse communities.
• Strong communication and time management skills; ability to work in a team.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications including student records systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental academic advising using case management concepts.
• Interpret placement scores, program curricula, and prerequisites for students.
• Help students understand the college registration process and required steps.
• Refer students to internal and external resources to foster success.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant advising records and coordinate with campus areas to ensure accurate materials.
• Develop and monitor Individualized Academic Plans and measure progress through meetings and interventions.
• Engage in inclusive practices and participate in professional development.
