Job summary

Meridian Preparatory Academy in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Student Academic and Career Advisor to develop and implement comprehensive academic advising frameworks, interpret Arizona graduation requirements, and determine student placement and pathways. The role emphasizes independent judgment and data-driven improvement.

You will participate in after-hours activities and work with leadership on trends, risks, and interventions to support student success. 8-hour days or 4-hour days possible.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field; 2+ years in academic advising.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1+ year in academic advising.
• Fluency in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Valid Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card for Arizona.
• Strong computer, public speaking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive academic advising frameworks.
• Interpret Arizona graduation requirements and assign student pathways.
• Design school-wide advising model with standards and metrics.
• Monitor student progress and early warning indicators.
• Collaborate with post-secondary institutions and community orgs.
