K-State Student Union in Manhattan, KS seeks a student photographer/videographer to create, edit, and publish engaging content for Union facilities, programs, services, and events. You will use standard photography and videography equipment to ensure high quality and assist with event coverage.

The role supports the Union's outreach efforts and provides hands-on experience in media production, asset management, and content publishing for social and digital channels.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at Kansas State University.
• Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Description

• Collaborate to create, capture, edit, and publish engaging and creative photos and/or video content for Union facilities, programs, services, and special events.
• Use standard and specialized photography and videography equipment to ensure quality standards.
• Assist with event/program photography and videography.
• Develop and maintain a robust photo and video library of printed and digital content. This includes efficiently organizing and archiving photo and video files.
• Maintain photography, video, and computer equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age (18 years of age for maintenance department)
• Current enrollment at Kansas State University
• Non-university student: Current enrollment in high school or an accredited college or university
• Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Organizational and time management skills

Preferred knowledge and experience with

• Adobe Creative Suite
• Managing social media content for organizations/businesses
• Social media publishing platforms such as, but not limited to Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, etc.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work in a general office environment. Remain seated/stand 75% of shift. Finger dexterity/movement for typing, picking up small objects and utilizing varying office equipment. Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery. Verbal and written communication to present, convey and exchange information and ideas accurately and quickly. There are no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key functions of this position.

Responsible for supporting the department to promote Union facilities, programs, services and special events while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
