Job summary

The University of Kansas, Lawrence Campus, is seeking a student hourly Communications Associate to support Student Affairs by creating video and graphic design content and promoting programs via print and digital media. Work will be primarily in Kansas Union Suite 400.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented with strong skills in visual storytelling, writing, and organization, and must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours for the semester. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
• Experience with social media platforms and analytics is a plus.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop).

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the social media plan for the academic year.
• Photograph, film, and capture events as requested by Student Affairs staff.
• Draft and edit communications copy and material for student audiences.
• Edit video content to be shared on various platforms.
• Promote a welcoming environment for all members of the KU campus community.
• Attend and participate in trainings and events.
• Report work hours and complete timesheets as directed by the supervisor.
