Job summary

Gaston College seeks a Student Services Specialist to serve as the initial guide for new and returning students and provide essential front-line administrative support within the Student Services division.

This role assists students with enrollment, registration, advising, financial aid, orientation, testing, and other college processes; triages inquiries and connects students with specialized staff; and offers information and referrals in a confidential and welcoming manner.

Qualifications

• Two years clerical experience in an educational setting with public contact.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Spanish language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all duties.
• Provide information and referrals to students and staff.
• Assist with enrollment, registration, advising, and financial aid processes.
• Triaging inquiries and routing to appropriate departments.
• Support Student Pantry operations and inventory tracking.
