Job summary

Keller ISD Education Center in Keller, Texas is seeking a Student Services Specialist to provide clerical and administrative support to the Student Services Department. The role includes handling routine office tasks, bookkeeping, and serving as the first point of contact for escalated issues with parents during the Truancy Tribunal process.

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, and reports to the Department Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of secretarial/related experience.
• Experience in public education environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes families and students to the Tribunal, checking them in upon arrival.
• Monitors organization, flow, and appointments for the day.
• De-escalate emotionally charged situations through effective communication techniques.
• Listen actively to parents' concerns with empathy while maintaining professionalism.
• Provide administrative and secretarial support to the department Director(s).
• Make meeting arrangements and prepare materials, schedule facilities and equipment.
• Handle routine inquiries to ensure high level of service.
• Maintain inventories of supplies and order office supplies as needed.
• Compile data for state and local reports; prepare purchase orders and payments.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure all reports and documents.
• Pursue professional development aligned with district goals.
