Responsibilities
- Serve as a front-facing point of contact for students, families, faculty, and campus visitors
- Respond to questions in person, by phone, and by email with professionalism, warmth, and accuracy
- Support day-to-day administrative operations within an academic or student-services department
- Assist with student-related questions such as registration, campus navigation, general policies, and routing inquiries to the appropriate office or advisor
- Work with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, to organize information and manage ongoing tasks
- Support meetings, events, and departmental coordination, including scheduling, room logistics, and note-taking when needed
- Collaborate across multiple offices and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Credentials
- Bachelor's degree preferred; strong relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree
- Experience in higher education, student services, administrative support, hospitality, customer service, or other high-volume public-facing environments is highly valued
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of strong customer service experience in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working in a highly visible, service-oriented role
- Strong judgment in handling questions, triaging issues, and escalating appropriately
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to jump in where needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting students, faculty, or academic departments
- Familiarity with university or student information systems
- Experience handling large inboxes, front desk traffic, or high-volume service interactions
- Background in education, admissions, office coordination,or other roles requiring strong communication
