Job summary

ProPivotal is looking for a full-time staff member in Boston to join a vibrant university community. In this temporary role, you'll support students and faculty by providing excellent customer service and assisting with daily operations in student services.

Key Details

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a front-facing point of contact for students, families, faculty, and campus visitors
  • Respond to questions in person, by phone, and by email with professionalism, warmth, and accuracy
  • Support day-to-day administrative operations within an academic or student-services department
  • Assist with student-related questions such as registration, campus navigation, general policies, and routing inquiries to the appropriate office or advisor
  • Work with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, to organize information and manage ongoing tasks
  • Support meetings, events, and departmental coordination, including scheduling, room logistics, and note-taking when needed
  • Collaborate across multiple offices and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; strong relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • Experience in higher education, student services, administrative support, hospitality, customer service, or other high-volume public-facing environments is highly valued
Required Qualifications
  • At least one year of strong customer service experience in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in a highly visible, service-oriented role
  • Strong judgment in handling questions, triaging issues, and escalating appropriately
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to jump in where needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting students, faculty, or academic departments
  • Familiarity with university or student information systems
  • Experience handling large inboxes, front desk traffic, or high-volume service interactions
  • Background in education, admissions, office coordination,or other roles requiring strong communication
