Job description

Join the heart of Kenai Peninsula College as our next Administrative Assistant in Student Services! You will assist students, Student Services Director and SS Director’s Office staff. If you are a detail-oriented communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, confidential environment and is passionate about supporting higher education, we invite you to bring your expertise to KPC.

The Administrative Assistant’s duties include a variety of day-to-day tasks such as responding to inquiries in person, by email, and through a multi-line phone system; directing students and visitors to appropriate campus resources; maintaining office supplies, equipment, files, and records; and providing clerical and administrative support to Student Services staff. This position uses student information systems, including Banner and other software, to support student-facing processes, track prospective student inquiries, maintain accurate records, prepare reports, schedule Student Services events, assist with campus events such as Commencement and New Student Orientation, and help maintain student-focused content on the KPC website.

This position also serves as a liaison between prospective students and campus offices such as Academic Advising, Admissions and Registration, Disability Support Services, Financial Aid, the Learning Center, Residence Life, Testing, Veterans Services, and other support areas. The Administrative Assistant helps improve communication and service for prospective and current students, protects student information in accordance with applicable regulations and university protocols, and may supervise Student Services student workers, including assisting with training, assigning tasks, and reviewing work.

To thrive in this role, you are a proactive, detail-oriented professional who delivers excellent customer service in a fast-paced, confidential environment. You excel at written and verbal communication, build strong working relationships across diverse populations, and can independently prioritize complex tasks under pressure. You bring strong technology fluency (MS Office, Google Workspace, scheduling systems) and intermediate fiscal skills, with the ability to troubleshoot office equipment and quickly learn university platforms. You are detail-oriented and have a high level of energy, initiative, creativity and a positive attitude.
