Job summary

Oakmont Education in Dayton, OH is seeking a Retention Specialist to serve as the building’s point person for student retention culture, supporting a diverse student population to develop and realize their goals.

You will monitor attendance, develop intervention plans, conduct outreach and home visits when applicable, coordinate with staff, and maintain accurate data to drive retention initiatives while upholding FERPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related professional work experience.
• Knowledge of attendance tracking and FERPA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point person for the building’s retention strategies and culture.
• Monitor daily attendance and manage attendance thresholds.
• Develop and implement prescriptive absence intervention plans.
• Collaborate with staff to provide academic and social interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and data tracking of students.
• Develop and implement a robust communication plan to engage students.
• Review student records for retention issues and follow up on progress.
• Perform home visits when applicable and conduct outreach activities.
• Support academically at-risk students and promote student success.
• Handle confidential student information with tact and integrity in FERPA compliance.
