Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College seeks a Retention Coordinator to promote and manage day-to-day operations of the Success & Retention area. The role supports retention activities, student learning communities, and outreach initiatives, reporting to the Director of Retention/Early Alert.

The position involves supervising student staff, coordinating with faculty, and contributing to marketing and outreach at college events. On-site work at Bluegrass C&TC Newtown Pike Campus is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with two years related experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates strong self-motivation, organization, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with best practices in student retention and academic success
• Commitment to fostering a supportive campus environment that promotes student success for all students

Responsibilities

• Co-supervises, trains, and recruits student support staff.
• Assists with management of the Early Alert System (Starfish), including training faculty and staff.
• Supports Early Alert activities and interventions with outreach campaigns.
• Assists with development and facilitation of Student Learning Communities (Jumpstarts and Success Academies).
• Promotes retention and engagement initiatives, including marketing and outreach.
• Assists with data collection and analysis to assess trends in retention and student success.
• Supports marketing of Success & Retention activities during campus events.
• Performs duties in compliance with college standards and policies.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.
