Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College is seeking a Retention Coordinator to support day-to-day operations in the Success & Retention area and help promote student success and persistence. You will work closely with the Director of Retention/Early Alert on programs, initiatives, and student learning communities.

The role involves supervising student staff, managing outreach efforts, and coordinating marketing and events to enhance retention.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrates strong self-motivation, organization, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with best practices in student retention and academic success.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive campus environment that promotes student success for all students.
• Experience in student outreach, programming, or teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-supervises, trains, and recruits student support staff.
• Assists with management of the Early Alert System (Starfish), including training and supporting faculty and staff.
• Supports Early Alert activities and interventions with outreach and campaigns.
• Assists with development of Student Learning Communities and Jumpstarts.
• Promotes retention and engagement initiatives including marketing and recruitment.
• Collects and analyzes data to assess trends and new initiatives in retention.
• Supports promotion of Success & Retention activities at events and fairs.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.
