Job summary

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a respiratory care support professional to evaluate and care for patients under supervision. Responsibilities include setting up oxygen, aerosol devices, inhaler therapies, spirometry, and airway clearance techniques, while communicating with the healthcare team and educating patients and families.

Required WV Student Respiratory Care Permit and licensure as per state rules; Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided.
• WV: Student Respiratory Care Permit
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain low flow oxygen devices of 6 LPM or less (nasal cannula or simple mask).
• Set up and maintain aerosol devices with Fi02 ≤ 50%.
• Deliver medications through a spontaneous small volume nebulizer.
• Deliver medication via Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) or dry powder inhaler.
• Measure peak flow, simple spirometry, and pulse oximetry.
• Administer airway clearance devices or techniques (therapy vest, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, suctioning via artificial airway, PEP therapies).
• Communicate with the healthcare team about patient care and provide patient/family education.
