College of Southern Nevada's Centers for Academic Success (CAS) is seeking a Student Research Assistant (Work Study) for the Fall 2026 term at the West Charleston Campus. The role supports tutoring services, greets students, checks sign-in sheets, and assists staff in the Learning Commons.

The position offers up to 20 hours per week, with an hourly wage of $14.00. Eligibility requires FAFSA completion and acceptance of the Student Employment Award in the Financial Aid package.

Qualifications

• Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Able to follow directions and communicate well.
• Good typing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
• Good overall understanding of diverse multicultural environments.

Responsibilities

• Greet all students and help them sign in.
• Check student sign‑in sheets and give them to tutors/assistants.
• Keep a rotation of tutors while working in the Learning Commons.
• Manage students’ expectations.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Answer student questions to the best of your knowledge.
• Enter data into the computer.
• Assist Administrative Assistants.
• File documents physically and electronically.
• Clean and organize the workspace as needed.
• Make copies and scan documents.
• Work on special projects during free time.
