Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Recruitment Specialist to join the Talent Acquisition Centers of Excellence in Human Resources. You will guide and support recruitment and onboarding for new hires, coordinate student recruiting activities from posting to onboarding, and partner with HR stakeholders to ensure a smooth candidate experience.

This role operates in a hybrid arrangement with two days per week on the Lawrence campus and requires strong communication, collaboration, and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma/GED plus four years of related professional-level work experience or equivalent.
• Computer skills in a PC/Windows environment including MS Word and MS Excel as demonstrated by application materials and previous experience.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail as demonstrated by application materials.
• Previous experience demonstrating the ability to build collaborative relationships/partnerships as evidenced by application materials.
• Previous experience working independently in a team environment, take ownership of the resolution of problems, be flexible and accountable, manage conflicting responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines, as evidenced by application materials.

Responsibilities

• Guide recruitment and onboarding of our new hires in alignment with university policies.
• Coordinate student recruitment activities from posting to onboarding transition, outreach, and networking.
• Assist applicants with questions on the application process and status; notify candidates of outcomes.
• Manage concurrent hiring activities for student employees and federal work study pools.
• Generate offers, review background checks, and ensure compliance in PeopleSoft panels.
• Resolve issues on hiring activities with supervisors or Senior Recruiters; assist with visa issues as needed.
• Engage in outreach, networking, and branding to promote the university as an employer of choice.
