Job summary

Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is seeking a Student Recruitment Manager to lead family outreach and enrollment efforts across Cambridge and neighboring communities. You will coordinate recruitment events, manage communications with families, and partner with schools and community groups to support CCSC’s mission and anti-racism initiatives.

The role combines on-site and off-site work, with expectant evening and weekend engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual ability is preferred to engage diverse families.

Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is a charter public school that serves students in grades 6-12. Responsibilities
  • Serve as a core member of the Recruitment Team and lead recruitment efforts in Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere.
  • Directly recruit families:
    • Work with the Recruitment Team to develop and implement recruitment strategies and enrollment plans to attract and enroll more students.
    • Attend fairs and community events to spread the word about CCSC.
    • Collaborate with the Recruitment Team to involve students, families, and teachers in the welcoming process.
    • Organize and execute CCSC Open House and Accepted Students Day events.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Development on student recruitment materials.
    • Distribute student recruitment materials.
    • Maintain a communication tracker for all phone and email follow‑up with interested families and students.
    • Serve as contact for families inquiring about the school (phone & email); sign up families for events; answer questions and help families get to know CCSC's mission and program.
    • Manage the lottery application process: follow up with families with incomplete applications, update the application tracker with notes and application status information.
  • Build and maintain community relationships:
    • Establish and expand relationships with schools, places of worship, city offices, and community organizations (including youth centers and Boys and Girls Clubs) in Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere.
    • Work with the Recruitment Team, community organizations, and community members to integrate the work of CCSC into the larger regional context.
  • Build and maintain school/family relationships:
    • Act as a community liaison for families from Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere throughout their time at CCSC.
    • Carry out engagement work by organizing groups for families from Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere.
  • Organize and procure enrollment materials from families:
    • Constant outreach through the enrollment process to ensure all necessary documents are submitted.
    • Provide opportunities for paperwork sessions with families, whether in‑person, hybrid, or at external locations more familiar to new families.
    • Update enrollment databases, sheets, and records as new documents are uploaded.
    • Run enrollment lotteries as needed.
  • Lead organization of Open Houses and Accepted Students Day:
    • Draft programming for events such as run of show; communicate plans to team members with documents, notes, and instructions.
    • Procure materials for events (food, flyers, decorations) while adhering to the event budget.
    • Responsible for event set‑up.
  • Monitor Family Group Chat:
    • Listen to community commentary and concerns.
    • Relay pertinent information to the Director of Communications.
    • Support family needs by aiding community members in finding resources, information, and opportunities.

This job is a combination of on‑ and off‑site work. The Student Recruitment Manager should expect to be present at CCSC at least two full days a week on average and will need to work evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Direct student recruitment experience (school setting preferred)
  • Experience working with community‑based organizations
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Fluent in a language other than English (preferred)
Compensation

CCSC's pay scale is based on years of experience and education level. Salaries range from $57,250 for Step 1 with a bachelor's degree to $73,481 for Step 6 with a master’s degree or higher. Up to five full years of full‑time experience in a similar US role are honored.
