Job summary

Community Charter School of Cambridge is seeking a Student Recruitment Coordinator to join our Recruitment Team, engaging families and communities to enroll students in grades 6-12. The role balances on-site and community outreach, including events, communications, and open houses.

Ideal candidates have an associate’s degree, school-based recruitment experience, and ability to work nights/weekends; fluency in another language is valued.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Direct student recruitment experience in a school setting preferred.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations is desirable.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a core member of the Recruitment Team and directly recruit families: develop enrollment plans, attend fairs, welcome families, organize Open House and Accepted Students Day events.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Development on student recruitment materials and distribute materials.
  • Maintain communication tracker for follow-up with interested families and students; sign up families for events.
  • Manage lottery application process and update status information.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and city offices in the Cambridge area.
  • Act as a community liaison for families throughout their time at CCSC; monitor Family Group Chat and relay information to administrators.
  • This job involves on-site and off-site work; the coordinator should be present at CCSC at least two full days a week and may work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a core member of the Recruitment Team and directly recruit families:
    • Work with the Recruitment Team to develop and implement recruitment strategies and enrollment plans to attract and enroll more students
    • Attend fairs and community events to spread the word about CCSC
    • Work with the Recruitment Team to involve students, families, and teachers in the welcoming process
    • Work with the Recruitment Team to organize and execute CCSC Open House and Accepted Students Day events
    • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Development on student recruitment materials
    • Distribute student recruitment materials
    • Maintain communication tracker for all phone and email follow‑up with interested families and students
    • Serve as contact for families inquiring about the school (phone & email); sign up families for events; answer questions and help families get to know CCSC’s mission and program
    • Manage CCSC’s lottery application process: follow up with families who have incomplete applications, update application tracker with notes and application status information
  • Build and maintain community relationships:
    • Establish and expand relationships with schools, places of worship, city offices and community organizations (including youth centers and Boys and Girls Clubs) in Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere
    • Work with the Recruitment Team, community organizations, and community members to integrate the work of CCSC into the larger regional context
  • Build and maintain school/family relationships:
    • Act as a community liaison for families from Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere throughout their time at CCSC
    • Carry out engagement work by organizing groups for families from Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, and Revere
    • Monitor Family Group Chat and relay any pertinent information to school administrators
  • This job is a combination of on‑ and off‑site work. The Student Recruitment Coordinator should be present at CCSC at least two full days a week and must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Compensation

CCSC’s pay scale is based on number of years of experience and education level, with up to five full years of full‑time experience in a similar role in the US honored. Salaries range from $50,000 for Step 1 with an associate’s degree to $61,494 for Step 6 with a master’s degree or higher.
