Job summary

Lamar University in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Student Records Specialist to join the Records & Registration team. You will serve as the primary contact for registration activities, maintain accurate student records, and ensure confidentiality and compliance with deadlines.

The role partners with faculty, staff, and students to guide on registration procedures, demographic updates, grading support, and transcript services, with backup coverage for immunizations and graduation-related tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of customer service and computer work experience in an office setting, call center or help desk.
• Experience with data entry and Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process student registration transactions, including course registrations, adds, drops, and withdrawals.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of student academic records.
• Assist with grading processes and record updates.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and deadlines.
• Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and visitors via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Provide guidance regarding registration procedures, academic records, and university policies.
• Update student demographic information and maintain confidentiality.
