Lamar University in Beaumont, TX seeks a Student Records Specialist to join Records & Registration. You will process registrations, updates to demographics, and grading support while safeguarding confidentiality and accuracy of student records.
As the primary contact for registration inquiries, you will deliver exceptional customer service to students, faculty and staff, collaborate with offices, and support transcript services, immunization records, and scheduling in a dynamic campus
The Student Records Specialist serves as a key member of the Records & Registration team and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the administration of student records and registration processes. This position serves as the primary point of contact for registration-related activities, including course registration, adds, drops, withdrawals, course schedule maintenance, and grading support. The role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student records and demographic data, while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and deadlines. Additionally, the Student Records Specialist collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to provide guidance and support related to academic records, registration services, and student information. This position also provides backup support for student record changes, immunization record maintenance, transcript services, graduation functions, and other departmental operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Although this position is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for extended periods, it occasionally requires movement within office spaces, including accessing storage areas, closets, and filing cabinets. The position may also require occasional lifting, carrying, or transporting boxes, files, and office equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, including placing or retrieving items from shelves or storage locations approximately 3 to 4 feet above the ground.
Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with frequent use of standard office equipment.
