Job summary

Washoe County School District in Reno seeks a Re-Engagement Specialist to locate students not enrolled and assist in identifying educational settings for re-enrollment, under the Unity Support Coordinator. You will consult with schools, interview families and guardians, coordinate with Family Advocates and Accountability, and prepare detailed reports to support re-entry into the education system.

• Education: 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, social services, humanities, criminal justice or related field.
• Experience: Two years with at-risk students, preferably in education; experience in consulting with families and community agencies.

Responsibilities

• Seeks missing students and investigates habitual truancy to assist re-enrollment.
• Interviews students, families, guardians, and school staff to complete intake and assessment for re-entry.
• Coordinates with Family Advocates and Accountability to support re-entry and tracks findings.
