The Student Program Coordinator, Sr. (SPC) provides comprehensive administrative support for graduate student admissions, academic progression, and degree certification. The SPC manages and processes student records and required documentation throughout the graduate student lifecycle, from application and admission through graduation.
The SPC reviews graduate applications and supporting materials for completeness and compliance with university and Graduate School requirements; maintains accurate application and student records; communicates with applicants, students, academic departments, and faculty regarding requirements, deadlines, documentation, and the status of student records; and resolves routine processing issues and discrepancies.
Throughout a student's academic career, the SPC receives, reviews, processes, and maintains graduate student forms and records related to registration, program of study, committee and program requirements, final examinations, thesis and dissertation submission, and other academic milestones. The SPC applies established university policies and procedures when reviewing documentation and works with students and academic departments to resolve incomplete, inaccurate, or noncompliant submissions.
The SPC is responsible for reviewing student records for degree and certificate completion and performing graduation certification activities for assigned academic programs. This includes verifying completion of applicable academic and administrative requirements, identifying and resolving outstanding requirements or record discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and timely certification of degrees and certificates.
The position requires a high degree of accuracy, organization, independent judgment, and attention to detail while managing a high volume of student records and time-sensitive transactions. The SPC must maintain appropriate confidentiality of student information and provide knowledgeable, professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and academic departments.
High School diploma + 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
Experience in higher education as well as familiarity with Banner, BDMS, SLATE, ProQuest preferred.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
No or very limited physical effort required.
Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
