Job Duties and Responsibilities

Performs general patrol and operational police duties, such as making arrests and enforcing criminal codes and statutes in an effort to safeguard our campus community; may assist in investigations or serve as a member of special teams or task forces; and may participate with community outreach initiatives and crime prevention.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

Associate's degree in any field. No previous work experience required.

Equivalent Qualifications

2 year's experience as a certified PO; or 2 year's experience allowing for a combination of education (15 related credits equivalent to 6 months experience), and/or military service (honorably discharged), and/or certified PO experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Special Certification/Licensure

This position has been established as a primary key position under the “All Hazard Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)” and is essential to operational continuity and/or recovery. In an emergency situation, primary key positions are required to report to work unless directed by supervisor or public safety authorities not to report for health and safety reasons.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
