Job summary

Northern Wyoming Community College District seeks a Grounds Maintenance Seasonal student to assist with lawn care, landscaping, irrigation, and related tasks at the Sheridan campus. You will report to the grounds supervisor with support from full-time grounds staff.

The role requires safe operation of equipment, outdoor work in all weather, and flexibility to fit class schedules. Start date 08/25/2026; positions are part-time with up to 40 hours weekly in summer.

Qualifications

• Sheridan College student enrolled and eligible to work on campus.
• Cumulative GPA 2.0 or greater required.
• Good conduct and academic standing with the college.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of grounds: lawn care, landscaping, planting, irrigation, pruning, mulching, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Operate grounds equipment and follow safety guidelines; report issues to supervision.
• Support to full-time grounds personnel and maintain equipment as needed.

Job Summary

Education/Qualifications

• Sheridan College Student currently enrolled

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of grounds care, chemical usage, and grounds equipment operation and maintenance
• Understanding of pesticides, herbicides, horticulture, tree care, mulching, fencing
• Operation of equipment, string trimmers, chain saw, hedge shears, blowers and lawn mowing equipment, snow blower, hand tools, etc.
• Communication skills required
• Computer skills
• Ability to organize work tasks and work independently
• Establish a safe working environment
• Ability to relate to others in a safe and positive manner
• Wear proper attire for safety and appearance

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• All Weather Conditions
• Outdoor work with exposure to all elements-heat, rain, snow, ice, dust, mud, etc.
