Fairview Health Services in Minnesota is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Southdale Infusion Center. You will provide clinical care, assist the pharmacy manager, and support pharmacists while supervising staff as appropriate.

The role emphasizes patient counseling, medication safety, and adherence to policies, with opportunities to advance through year-based responsibilities in hospital and infusion settings.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a student at an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy
• Year-specific progression: Year 2 requires Year 1 completed; Year 3 requires Year 2 completed; Year 4 requires Year 3 completed
• Excellent customer service, English proficiency, problem solving, policy adherence, and mathematical skills
• Active registration as a Pharmacy Intern with the MN State Board of Pharmacy Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Provide patient counseling and prospective drug use evaluation for oral chemotherapy
• Perform patient evaluations related to prescribed therapies; collect, analyze, and interpret data
• Monitor patient records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapy appropriateness
• Dispense medications accurately and in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements
• Identify and resolve patient‑specific medication‑related problems
• Support medication safety and error management activities
• Ensure accurate and complete billing to payers
• Utilize pharmacy technologies to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions
• Maintain proficiency in pharmacy practice through ongoing education
• Demonstrate cultural competence and developmental sensitivity in patient care
• Insurance verification, prior authorizations, and third‑party prescription issues; process manual prescriptions; handle cash register transactions and customer service; support scheduling, pharmacy software, and bookkeeping; progression of duties from Year 1 to Year 4
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas; support inpatient workflows including sterile compounding; participate in multidisciplinary care discussions; emphasis on infusion therapies and ongoing clinical integration
