Tompkins Cortland Community College seeks peer tutors to support students across Math & Science and Writing & Research. Tutors work during the tutoring center's drop-in hours and may take on appointment-based sessions, in person or online.
Tutors provide content help, study strategies, and test preparation, and may assist with classroom projects or serve as classroom assistants when needed. Priority may be given to students with a Federal Work Study award.

Peer tutors will be assisting students during the tutoring center's drop-in hours, M-F 10am-2pm.
Peer tutors may also be assigned to appointment based tutoring sessions in-person and online.
Tutors will help with content, study skills, test preparation, and more.
Tutors may be asked to do small projects around the Baker Center when not busy with a tutee.
Student tutors may also have the opportunity to serve as a classroom assistant in certain classes.
Peer tutors should have content knowledge and a patient, encouraging personality. They should be willing to help students figure out how they learn best and to try different strategies for helping the student learn the material. Also, they should be recommended by a TC3 faculty member.
Peer tutors may be asked to complete an evaluation of their math skills and to keep brushing up as the semester goes along.
