Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 semesters tutoring or teaching experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on coursework in an appropriate discipline (Master's preferred).
  • Substantive coursework in a relevant discipline including math, science, CS, or English/writing.
  • Two professional and one personal recommendations.
  • Ability to tutor College Algebra through Calculus 1.

Responsibilities

  • Provides tutoring services (drop-in and online).
  • Monitors Baker Center tutoring activities.
  • Trains and mentors peer and para-professional tutors; recommends tutor certification.
  • Provides services for students with disabilities and develops training materials.
  • Engages in one-on-one tutoring with high-risk students; supports independent learning.
