Job summary

The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) invites applications for the PBL Suite Evening Attendant in Lynch Hall. This role maintains a secure and orderly environment during evening hours, verifying access with LECOM IDs, logging sign-ins/outs, and patrolling the suite to ensure proper use of facilities.

Ideal candidates will communicate effectively, handle pressure, and maintain confidentiality while working with students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a customer service-oriented environment preferred.
• Ability to explain and demonstrate essential functions with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure only authorized individuals with valid LECOM IDs are admitted during evening hours.
• Require sign-in/sign-out logs and conduct periodic rounds of the suite.
• Maintain a professional relationship with students and report problems in writing or verbally.
• Follow FERPA, OSHA, safety guidelines, and protect equipment.
• Assist with Institutional fundraising and scholarship activities as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:

The PBL Suite Evening Attendant ensures a secure learning environment for students in LECOM’s Lynch Hall suite during evening hoursduring the academic year (August - May).

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that only authorized students, faculty, and staff with valid LECOM ID cards are admitted to the suite during evening hours;
• Ensure that all students sign-in upon entry and sign-out upon exit;
• Make periodic rounds to ensure that all facilities are being used appropriately;
• Ensure that there is no food or drink in PBL rooms;
• Utilize good judgment in dealing with any problems and in contacting SHU Police and/or supervisor, as needed;
• Maintain a professional relationship with students;
• Report any problems via written and/or verbal reports;
• Ensures compliance with Internal, State, and Federal Regulations, including FERPA;
• Follows proper OSHA and safety guidelines;
• Properly use, maintain, and protect equipment;
• Contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
• Participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
• Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and
• Performs other duties needed and/or assigned for the department needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment required.
