Job summary

Western Nevada College is seeking an Academic Advisor & Access Coordinator to provide holistic, student-centered advising and support student access, persistence, completion, transfer, and career readiness.

The role collaborates with students, faculty, staff, educational partners, and community organizations to strengthen pathways and connect students with resources, while traveling to assigned locations and occasionally working evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, student affairs, or related field; and three (3) years of related professional experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree (i.e. AA plus 4 years related professional experience).
• Travel to assigned locations and work occasional evenings and weekends are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic academic advising to students across varied pathways and stages.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with high schools, community partners, and college departments.
• Coordinate outreach, orientations, and workshops aligned with departmental priorities.
• Support implementation of targeted access initiatives and student success programs.
• Maintain advising records and collaborate with internal and external resources.
