Job summary

Western Nevada College is seeking an Administrative Faculty member in a non-tenure track role to join the Academic Advising & Access team, providing holistic, student-centered advising that supports access, persistence, completion, transfer, and career readiness.

The position guides prospective and current students across pathways, collaborates with schools and community partners, maintains advising records, and may include outreach and evening/weekend duties in support of student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and 3 years related experience.
• Equivalency allowed with AA and 4 years experience; associate degree required.
• Occasional travel and after-hours work including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to students across varied stages and pathways.
• Explain policies, degree requirements, transfer pathways, and processes.
• Document advising interactions and monitor academic progress.
• Develop collaborative partnerships with high schools and community partners.
• Plan outreach activities and coordinate departmental initiatives.
• Maintain accurate advising records with privacy compliance.
• Support students facing challenges by connecting to resources.
