University of Kansas seeks a student assistant for the KU Band administrative office. You will greet visitors, answer phones, handle data entry, word processing, and filing, and assist with general office duties. You’ll also support faculty as needed.
The role includes recruitment support, inventory management, and event logistics. Enrollment must meet the 6 credit hour minimum during term, with an hourly, non-exempt schedule.
The student assistant’s role is to provide excellent customer service to KU Band students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the front desk. This position supports the KU Band administrative office with general office duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors, word processing, filing, copying, data entry, mailing, and other tasks as assigned. Additionally, the student assistant provides faculty support as needed or requested.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
