Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a PRN Float Student Nurse Tech (SNT) to support patients across our East Region hospitals. This flexible, self-scheduled role offers opportunities to work in multiple units including ED, ICU, PACU, telemetry, and med/surg while building clinical confidence.

In this role you will start with a 3-week full-time training, travel to various locations, and gain experience across different units. Nursing students enrolled in accredited programs are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Completion of nursing fundamentals with clinical component.
• Willingness to travel to East Region locations (including Illinois).

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education.
• Documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.

Key Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
• Completion of nursing fundamentals with clinical component required
• Willingness to travel to all East Region locations (including Illinois)
• Ability to adapt quickly and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in new environments
• Must submit end-of-term grades and upcoming school schedule to remain active
• Targeted start date: 11/30, 12/14 or 1/11
• Initial 3-week full-time training commitment required to support your success in the role before transitioning to the regular schedule.
