BJC HealthCare is seeking a PRN Float Student Nurse Tech (SNT) to support patients across East Region hospitals. You will gain diverse experience in ED, ICU, PACU, telemetry, and med/surg settings, with a mix of locations and units.

The role includes a $3/hour float differential, shift differentials, mileage reimbursement, and flexible scheduling through BJC Flex. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and have completed nursing fundamentals with a clinical

Role Highlights

• PRN, self-scheduled role (minimum 24 hours every 6 weeks)

Key Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
• Completion of nursing fundamentals with clinical component required
• Willingness to travel to all East Region locations (including Illinois)
• Ability to adapt quickly and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in new environments
• Must submit end-of-term grades and upcoming school schedule to remain active
• Targeted start date: 11/30, 12/14 or 1/11
• Initial 3-week full-time training commitment required to support your success in the role before transitioning to the regular schedule.

Role Purpose

Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
