Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Pittsburgh is seeking a Student Nurse Technician (Future Registered Nurse) for per diem/PRN shifts. You must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and provide proof of the first year.

Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour, with shifts eligible for additional night/weekend differentials. You will gain hands-on experience in vital signs, patient care, and nursing procedures while aligning with NCLEX preparation.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN) and must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing, (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to follow written and verbal instructions.
• BLS certification required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, and specimen collection.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN (within safety limits).
• Deliver meals and assist patients who cannot feed themselves; document intake.
• Turn and reposition immobile patients; participate in mobility program.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and other areas as needed.
