Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in accredited pre-licensure MSN/BSN/ADN program.
• Passing grade in Fundamentals/Foundations of Nursing.
• Current BLS (AHA/Red Cross) card required.
• CNA certificate preferred but not required.
• Previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the registered nurse with patient assessment per Nursing Standards of Practice.
• Assist with planning of nursing care by providing input to the nurse about previous treatments.
• Perform delegated nursing care activities such as nasogastric care and catheter care.
• Provide direct patient care: hygiene, positioning, mobility, nutrition, and bed adjustments.
• Assist with patient admission, discharge and setup of equipment.
• Document vital signs and intake/output per policy.
• Follow infection control guidelines and unit policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
