UnityPoint Health is offering a Summer 2027 Student Nurse Internship in Iowa. The 10-week, hourly paid program provides hands-on experience, flexible hours, and customizable tracks across Home Care, Hospice, Pediatrics, Infusion, and more.

Successful interns may be considered for the Nurse Residency Program, committing to one year full-time as an RN with Unity Point at Home after graduation. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN, BSN or accelerated program, entering the fourth year of a BSN program or the final two terms of an ADN program.
• LPN enrolled in ADN or BSN program.
• Interns must be enrolled in a one-credit nursing course for the duration of the internship to perform RN skills.

Responsibilities

• Build professional relationships with clinical team members.
• Gain confidence in performing technical skills.
• Develop clinical judgment and priority setting.

Summer 2027 Student Nurse Internship

Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Minimum of 24 hours - maximum of 40 hours/week -- flexible hours!)

10-week hourly paid position.- Customizable internship tracks available in different locations (Home Care, Hospice, Pediatrics, Infusion, + Care at Home)

Transition to Nurse Residency Program: - Those that successfully complete the internship would be considered a preferred candidate for the nurse residency program.- Residency program includes a commitment to work one year (12 months) in a full-time status as a Registered Nurse at Unity Point at Home.

Application Materials

Accepted from November 1st - March 1st, 2027- Submit recommendation forms from two nursing facility members.

Write a letter of intent answering: What influenced you pursue a career in nursing? Why are you interested in the nurse internship program? Where do you see yourself in five years?

Include a current AHA or Red Cross Professional Provider card + current mandatory reporter certification.
