Job summary

UnityPoint Health invites nursing students to join its Summer 2027 Student Nurse Internship. The program runs 10 weeks with an hourly pay, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, and 24–40 hours per week with flexible hours. Custom tracks include Home Care, Hospice, Pediatrics, Infusion, and Care at Home.

Completion may lead to consideration for the Nurse Residency Program, with a 12-month full-time RN commitment at UnityPoint at Home. Apply by the stated deadlines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ADN, BSN, or Accelerated BSN program.
• GPA 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or higher.
• LPN enrolled in ADN/BSN program.
• AHA or Red Cross professional provider CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Build strong professional relationships with clinical team members.
• Gain confidence in performing technical nurse skills.
• Develop clinical judgment and priority setting in patient care.

Overview

Summer 2027 Student Nurse Internship

Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Minimum of 24 hours - maximum of 40 hours/week -- flexible hours!)

10-week hourly paid position.

Customizable internship tracks available in different locations (Home Care, Hospice, Pediatrics, Infusion, + Care at Home)

Transition to Nurse Residency Program: Those that successfully complete the internship would be considered a preferred candidate for the nurse residency program. Residency program includes a commitment to work one year (12 months) in a full‑time status as a Registered Nurse at Unity Point at Home.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited ADN, BSN or Accelerated Program (either entering 4th year of BSN Program or last 2 terms of ADN program)
• Current LPN enrolled in ADN or BSN program
• GPA 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
• Current AHA or Red Cross Card- for the Professional Provider + current mandatory reporter certificaiton
• All interns are required to be enrolled in a nursing course during the duration of the internship
