Atrium Health is seeking a Nurse Extern to support patients in daily living activities and basic nursing tasks. You will assist with hygiene, vital signs, measurements, and patient ambulation under supervision within a hospital setting in Charlotte, NC.

The position requires an RN program in good standing, prior Nurse Aide registry listing, and a current BLS certification. Excellent communication and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently in good standing in a Registered Nurse academic program.
• Successful completion of Junior year or equivalent at the time of the Nurse Extern program.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II prior to start date.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.

Responsabilités

• Supports patients with activities of daily living.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and daily routines.
• Takes vital signs and measurements including height/weight.
• Transports, feeds, and helps with ambulation per procedures.
• Maintains clean, safe patient rooms and observes changes in condition.
• Communicates with patients and families to explain safety measures.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
