Job summary

The role requires staying in good standing in the RN academic program and ongoing Basic Life Support certification, with prior Nurse Aide registry eligibility in NC to start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently in good standing in Registered Nurse academic program required.
• Junior year completion (or equivalent) for Nurse Extern program.
• Current listing as a NA I with the NC Nurse Aide I Registry and NA II listed with NC Board of Nursing prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Takes vital signs and height and weight measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients/residents according to procedures.
• Maintains patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observes and reports changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orients patients/families to unit and instructs patient on safety measures.
• Assists with clerical work including answering phones, data entry and maintaining medical records.
• Maintains stock supply items in inventory.
• Performs Nurse Aide I/II tasks per state Nursing Board Lists.
• Performs technical tasks with training such as 12-Lead ECG and venipuncture.
