Job summary

Malcolm X College invites applications for a Student Mentor in the Peer Support Program. The role aims to empower emerging student leaders by offering informed, structured support to peers and coordinating with the Wellness Center to promote counseling and self-sufficiency.

Applicants must be 16+, eligible to work in the United States, actively enrolled at CCC campuses, and maintain a minimum 6 credit hours with a 2.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Eligibility requirements as listed in the ad, including age, work authorization, good standing, 6 credit hours, GPA 2.0+, home campus Malcolm X College, and prior knowledge of campus resources.

Responsibilities

• Advises, guides, and serves as a role model for students transitioning to college life.
• Explains CCC system and helps students access resources; refers to Wellness Center as needed.
• Provides information on study techniques and learning aids to support transition.
• Meets mentee(s) twice per month and assists with goal setting.
