Job summary

Tulane University’s Doris Z. Stone Latin American Library and Research Center seeks student employees to assist during peak periods and with archival processing. The role begins this semester and ends on a determined basis, with a maximum of 20 hours per week across student positions.

Pay rate is $12–$14 per hour. Duties include shelving, catalog checks, packet preparation for DSLAL events, answering phones, and basic computer data entry.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment as a Tulane University student
• Preferred: Spanish language skills

Responsibilities

• Reshelving and preparing book trucks for reshelving
• Shifting to accommodate new books on overloaded shelves
• Help check book vendor catalogs
• Prepare informational packets for DSLAL events
• Review and check newly cataloged books/newspapers for processing errors
• Assist with DSLAL events
• Answer phones and provide general clerical assistance
• Basic to moderate computer skills for word processing and data input
