Job summary

Tulane University is seeking a student assistant to work at the Tulane Library Annex and Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. The role includes shelving, catalog-related tasks, and supporting special projects, with transportation required to multiple library locations.

Hours are up to 20 per week, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The hourly rate ranges from $10.00 to $18.00, and a Federal Work Study award may be available.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University.
• Possibility of Federal Work Study.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.

Responsibilities

• Reshelving, sorting, and preparing book trucks for circulation.
• Shifting shelves to accommodate new books on overloaded shelves.
• Prepare informational packets for events.
• Review newly cataloged items for processing/labeling errors.
• Assist with exhibits and events and provide general clerical support.
• Answer phones and handle light duties; assist with special projects.
