Job summary

Langston University seeks a Coordinator of Student Leadership and Engagement to advise student organizations, coordinate programs, and manage campus events. The role interfaces with students, staff, faculty, vendors, and community members to facilitate successful programming and retention efforts.

The coordinator will conceptualize and execute programs that enhance the student experience, ensure compliance with university policies, and report on activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Higher Education, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in higher education administration.
• Knowledgeable about student development theory and philosophy of HBCUs.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource to all registered student organizations and advisors; provide training opportunities and materials.
• Assist the Assistant Dean of Students with assessing student organization events and liability concerns.
• Provide ongoing development for registered student organizations to increase leadership.
• Advise the Student Activities Board and oversee planning for Homecoming, Welcome Back, and Spring Week.
• Advise the Elite Connection and oversee the Royalty Scholarship Pageant Programs.
• Supervise and develop OSL student staff and coordinate event registrations.
• Manage the student engagement platform and assist with event budgeting, advertising, and risk management.
• Act as building manager for the I.W. Young Auditorium and oversee space usage for RSOs and campus events.
