Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking a Student Engagement Program Specialist – Student Government and Civic Engagement. You will advise Whitewater Student Government, support leadership development, and coordinate civic engagement initiatives across campuses.

Essential duties include governance advisement, program planning, and collaboration with campus partners to foster student voice and inclusive participation in university governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, student engagement, leadership development, public administration, political science, education, or communications.
• Professional experience working with college students in student engagement, leadership development, student governance, civic engagement, advising, or a related area.
• Experience advising, mentoring, or developing student leaders and creating educational programs or workshops.

Responsibilities

• Writes, edits, and publishes content for communication projects and campaigns.
• Organizes student-focused programming and resources for new and ongoing educational initiatives.
• Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Generates reports on curricular and unit outcomes and supports governance activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, student engagement, leadership development, public administration, political science, education, communications, or a related field.
