Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno invites qualified students to serve on the Residential Housing Association Board of Directors. Five members will work under the Coordinator for Student Engagement and collaborate with the RHA Executive Board to promote engagement, advocacy, and operational support for residents across Residential Life, Housing, and Food Services communities.

Expected hours are 10–15 per week with compensation of $12.00 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Full-time student status at the University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Enrol in a minimum of 15 credits per semester (between 15 and 17 credits).
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA (semester and cumulative) while holding the position.
  • Knowledge of residential life operations, conflict resolution, and policies of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
  • Familiarity with RHA, RLHFS, and university financial guidelines; knowledge of Open Meeting Law and Roberts Rules of Order.

Responsibilities

  • Chair or assist with department-wide committees.
  • Collaborate with the RHA Executive team to plan and organize events and programs.
  • Maintain the RHA Resource Center, schedule office hours, and monitor the check‑in/check‑out process for resources.
  • Act as the RHA liaison to community Leadership Councils.
  • Create and gather information related to marketing and promotion of activities.
  • Manage the organization’s social media accounts.
  • Attend regular one‑on‑one meetings with RHA advisors.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the RHA Executive Board or advisors.
  • Fill in for a missing executive board position if necessary.
  • Attend all Fall and Spring trainings in person.
  • Complete weekly RHA reports.
  • Assist with agenda development for board meetings.
  • Complete assigned office hours in the RHA Resource Center.
