Job summary

Entergy is offering a Student Intern position within the Project Delivery Engineering Department in New Orleans, LA. You will work in a team to assist engineers with day-to-day tasks, including engineering analysis, project scoping, cost estimation, and relay design package preparation.

The role supports design work based on site visits, prepares operational drawings, and assists with as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in Electrical Engineering at bachelor, master, or doctoral level.
• Minimum GPA 2.8 (on 4.0 scale), verified via transcript.
• Junior or senior status preferred.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in day-to-day activities within a team environment.

Ent ergy’s Project Delivery Engineering Department

is responsible for planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and operating over 16,000 miles of transmission lines and over 2,700 substations across the four-state territory.

Intern Job Description

Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities, including but not limited to:

• Performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis, project scoping, cost estimation, and site visits Specification/procurement of relay equipment
• Preparing IFA/IFC relay design packages
• Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
• Working collectively with multiple groups across different disciplines to support project needs
• Preparing operational one-line drawings
• Performing the completion of as-built documentation
• Working on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
• Supporting activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.e., NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations as required
• Travel may be required for the position

Minimum Education Requirements

• Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering (for the duration of their internship).
• Preferred:Candidates who will be classified as a junior, senior, or beyond at the time of hire.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.
