Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician for The Summit at Queens College in Flushing, NY. This full-time role supports building maintenance, systems, and safety with an on-site presence and after-hours emergency coverage.

You will perform preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and routine inspections while ensuring a professional, customer-focused service throughout the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years general maintenance experience in property management or related field.
• Experience with student housing or facilities management preferred.
• Trade knowledge in custodial, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, basic HVAC.
• Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
• Must be punctual, organized and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems including thermostats, filter changes, belt changes, oil/lubing, cleaning of registers and vents.
• Maintain, repair, and replace public area, office and residential furniture as needed.
• Routine boiler maintenance including temperature recordings and reporting.
• Perform general plumbing repairs (leaks, drains, toilets, sinks, showers).
• Perform electrical repairs including fixtures, sockets, outlets and GFCIs.
• Paint and repair drywall as scheduled.
• Clean and maintain equipment/tools; keep Maintenance Shop organized.
• Inspect buildings daily and report findings with recommendations to prevent issues.
• Attend to on-call emergencies and respond within 40 minutes when required.
• Other duties as assigned.
