Job summary

Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi seeks a Coordinator, Housing Assignments to manage all aspects of housing allocation, serve as the primary contact for students, maintain housing forms and records, and prepare reports, letters, and logs for Residence Life.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in higher education or student activities, plus strong customer service, communication, and computer skills to support a diverse student population

• Thorough knowledge of assignment processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of residence housing best practices and procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Strong communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to effectively deliver assignment services to a diverse student population.
• Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the contact person for all housing assignments.
• Maintains current file of all housing forms.
• Completes requisitions.
• Prepares written materials, reports, room assignments, logs, letters to students.
• Processes documents and materials, registration, travel requests and assists in the processing of Residence Hall charges.
• Other related duties, as assigned.
