Job summary

Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative (CVSEC) in Faribault, Minnesota is hiring an Educational Assistant Health Assistant to support students with diverse learning and health needs.

You will assist the school nurse with medications, help students with daily living activities, support IEP goals and classroom activities, and collaborate with teachers, nurses, and other staff to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Highly Qualified requirements via one of: Associate's Degree, 60 post-secondary credits, ParaPro/ParaEducator, or equivalent training approved by the Minnesota Department of Education.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the school nurse with medication administration and other delegated health services.
• Following student health plans, physician orders, and health/safety procedures.
• Maintaining accurate health, medication, and student records.
• Providing basic first aid and responding to health emergencies.
• Assisting students one-on-one and in small groups with classroom activities.
• Supporting IEP goals, lesson plans, and specialized programming.
• Monitoring and redirecting student behavior and implementing behavior strategies.
• Supervising students and maintaining a safe environment.
• Assisting students with activities of daily living as appropriate.
• Collaborating with teachers, nurses, administrators, and support staff.
• Maintaining student confidentiality and required documentation.
• Attending trainings and meetings.
