What You'll Do

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you'll provide essential nursing services and individualized health support to students in a specialized educational setting. Nursing duties and responsibilities will be assigned and directed by CVSEC's school nurse or Registered Nurse (RN), consistent with the LPN scope of practice.

Responsibilities May Include

• Providing direct nursing care to students with a variety of medical, physical, developmental, and health-related needs as assigned by the school nurse or RN.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed and directed by the school nurse or RN, in accordance with established nursing protocols and applicable regulations.
• Monitoring student health conditions, recognizing changes in medical status, and promptly communicating concerns to the supervising nurse.
• Supporting students with chronic health conditions, complex medical needs, and individualized healthcare plans.
• Performing assigned nursing procedures and medical interventions within the LPN scope of practice and under appropriate nursing direction.
• Responding to student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential student health records, medication documentation, and nursing notes.
• Collaborating with the school nurse, RN, teachers, related service providers, families, and healthcare professionals to support student health and educational success.
• Assisting with additional student health services and nursing-related responsibilities as assigned by the school nurse or RN.
• Promoting student safety, wellness, independence, and participation throughout the school day.
